Top 5 Safety Tips for Liquid Distributing Equipment

When you’ve got a job to do, it’s all too easy to let safety fall by the wayside. Sometimes the proper protocols are ignored in an attempt to save time. Sometimes people get into the groove of things and forget to take the necessary precautions. And sometimes, maybe worst of all, the problem is simply lack of awareness of safety measures.

At Klein Products, we design all of our equipment to maximize safety — and to help you get even more out of these built-in benefits, we’d like to share a few basic safety tips.

CONSIDER YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS

The environment where you’re operating your equipment affects how it can safely be used. For example, a maneuver that’s perfectly safe on a flat operating surface may become dangerous on more rugged terrain.

MAINTAIN THE TRUCK GVWR, WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION, AND CENTER OF GRAVITY

Alterations such as welding additional components to your tank can change its center of gravity, making it less stable. Exceeding the payload capacity can also throw off the balance and safe weight distribution of your equipment (and cause other safety issues).

ALWAYS OPERATE THE EQUIPMENT CORRECTLY

Take the time to understand the intended functionality of your equipment and the proper operating procedures. Only use the equipment for its intended purpose, and carefully follow all instructions.

PAY ATTENTION TO WARNING LABELS

In addition to reading the product manual, be sure to take note of all labels on the equipment itself and follow the safety warnings.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SAFETY FEATURES

Your truck tank equipment is offered with a variety of features to support safe operation, including a backup camera, backup alarm system, fall restraint system and smart control interface. For more information on any of these options/features, consult your Klein rep.
